NEWTOWN --- Charles Wesley Hickman, 90, died 6:25 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at his home northwest of here after a two-year illness. Born near Pine Village, April 9, 1874, the son of John and Mary Jones Hickman, he was married to Ruby Martin in 1940. A retired farmer, he spent much of his life in Lafayette, where he was vice president of the First Merchants National Bank. He was the oldest living ex-member of the Indiana Agricultural Society, which operates the State Fair, and a member of the Newtown Methodist Church. Surviving with the widow are a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Heston of Lafayette; a half brother, Clement Isley of California; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Mrs. George Stafford of Attica; and two step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Wesley. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the DeSutter Funeral Home in Attica. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenbay Cemetery, north of Newtown.  --typed by Walt W
